Chicken and Dumplings

This is a recipe that I always make sure I have the ingredients for! It’s so simple and uses very few ingredients! This is perfect for the 10 lb bags of chicken leg quarters.

3 chicken leg quarters 

Flour

Salt 

Pepper

Water

 

Boil your chicken and sit aside to cool

SAVE THE BROTH IN THE POT

Make up your dumpling dough…mix flour and water until it is biscuit dough consistency..add salt and pepper to taste

Bring the chicken broth to a boil, salt and pepper broth to taste

start pinching off pieces of the dough and dropping them into the boiling broth, when all of the dough is used, let it boil for 2-3 minutes

remove all of the chicken from the leg quarters and add it to the pot…stir well, taste, add seasoning if needed.

**save the chicken bones for making chicken broth (let them cool completely and stick in the freezer)

 

 

This is one of the cheapest meals I make for my family and they all love it!
